I’m starting a record label and I’m using it partially to keep ownership of my father’s records, whom he published under his own label and has copyright over. His record label however, is long defunct. What do I need to do to make it my own?

You are going to have to ask a copy write lawyer. But since this is easy, it won’t be expensive.
