I want to be a music producer and live in Atlanta. What should I do?

My dream is to one day produce music (rock mainly). I live in Atlanta and do not know where to get an internship. I always thought Altanta was a good place but looking on the internet I have found out that all of the good music labels are in New York and I would like an internship at a big one? Any ideas? Are there music labels in Atlanta that are big for rock music that have signed with famous artists before? Maybe some big music labels based in New York but that also have offices in Atlanta? I am about to transfer to Georgia Tech so I must stay in Atlanta. I am planning on taking some music classes at Georgia Tech as well. Any music labels that you know of that are good would be appreciated.
