Jobs in the music industry?

February 242010

Hi, I’m about to graduate high school, and all I know is I want to do something within the music industry, whether if it’s being an A&R, my first choice, or just something with bands and record labels. Any suggestions on which majors to study in or if maybe trying to get a job at a record label (job or internship) first, then going to college would be better. Any help!? Thanks!

Record labels would be more likely to take an intern that is a college student.
If you definitely want to go into music, majoring in something like music theory would be a good idea, with a minor in composition or something. Check out schools like Juliard and Berklee (not Berkeley)
