Isn’t it record labels’ fault for allowing people to copy music?

February 92010

The RIAA and alike are suing people for sharing music, but isn’t it really the record labels’ fault for writing their music to an easily copied format such as an .mp3? I don’t see how juries can find people guilty of file sharing when:
A. Without knowledge of it being illegal, file-sharing doesn’t seem wrong in any way, shape, or form and,
B. It is so easy to copy and share the files they have the music written to.

I think people need to be responsible for when they take things that are not theirs. It sucks that it’s in the state it’s in for sure. I’m just glad I live in Canada where file sharing music is actually legal.
