Brown Movementz Productionz Inc., a well known Music Label, has produced and released several music albums in a variety of languages – from Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Carnatic, and Punjabi among others. The Music Label was initialized in 2003. Today, Brown Movementz Productionz is excited to announce its first Music concert, bringing together artists and various music labels from a variety of backgrounds onto one stage.

Considering the amount of artists, music labels, and entertainers who are eager to perform for their fans, Brown Movementz Productionz has taken the initiative to create a concert to be held on July 24th, 2010 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at George Weston Recital Hall.

This concert is designed to bring greater awareness of South Asian artists, music labels and entertainers. This is not a concert that is looking to gain profit but to present the numerous talents that exist within the Toronto community, and to give them an opportunity to promote themselves and their music labels.

Along with giving an opportunity for South Asian artists, music labels and entertainers to showcase their talent, this is also a concert that is aiming to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. A portion of the proceeds raised from this concert will be donated to a cancer research foundation.

Cancer research has done much to further our knowledge of cancer and has lead to more effective treatments. They have been instrumental in educating the public about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. Cancer foundations are some of the organizations where patients and other individuals affected by the disease can turn to for support. We hope a contribution from this concert will fund research into a variety of forms of cancer, including lung, breast, brain, prostate, ovarian, and so many more.

The singles label Green Label Sound has started 2009 with the official video for “Big Bills” the collaboration between Chicago-based DJ/production duo Flosstradamus and Caroline Polachek of Brooklyn’s indie-synth band Chairlift.

Setting the stage in a freezing warehouse located in Brooklyn, New York, Flosstradamus and Caroline are surrounded by colorful lighting and hanging mirrors catching their reflections. The inspiration came from contemporary Danish artist, Olafur Eliasson. Director Keven McAlester explains, “For the video, I wanted to do something very simple, very mathematical–complement the song without getting in the way. We tried a bunch of more complicated stuff with mirrors, but we kept coming back to the simple things that worked. Color and geometry. My kindergarten teacher would be proud.”

The collaboration marks several “firsts” for all players: the first collaboration on Green Label Sound; the first official original release from Flosstradamus; and the first “dance” track featuring Caroline Polachek. Flosstradamus (Curt Cameruci and Josh Young), known for their ability to seamlessly blend old school beats, Euro big-room tunes, funky house, and minimal techno, have laid down a fun and compelling beat which complements the subtle indie pop vocals of Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek perfectly. “Big Bills” is available for free download at GreenLabelSound.com.

This is just me ranting.
I know this will do nothing.
I just wish they would leave fan made videos up. It makes you money! It spreads the word! I put so much time into that video. It was my most favorite video that I have ever done.
Oh PS I am not making partnership sound like a bad thing. I am just saying for ME it would be a sacrifice. Other people might have never wanted to use music. that is why the partnership is good for them

The Cosmic Lounge presents Jungle Music: ‘Ultrasonic Sound’ by Hive.

“Hive a.k.a. Michael Petrie (born December, 1974) is a San Francisco-based DJ, producer and record label owner who has contributed to dozens of recordings in the drum and bass musical genre. His Violence Recordings label is regarded as the premiere drum-and-bass label in the United States. His mixes have been used throughout popular media, although he is not particularly well known. Hive is on the Matrix soundtrack, and his songs are also used in several television shows. He has produced four albums, his latest being “Bedlam” which he released in 2002.”
