Which of your favorite artists have been blacklisted by the WMG?
February 92010
Since Warner Music Group (WMG) bullied YouTube into a mass video removal over copyright infringement months ago, I am no longer buying any music from that label. And when I looked at the complete list of the artists owned by the WMG, I am not surprised: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Warner_Music_Group_artists
My favorite artists have been blacklisted: The Bee Gees, Green Day, Linkin Park, Muse, My Chemical Romance, Sex Pistols, Simple Plan, Sugar Ray
Yes, I know that although Green Day belongs to the Reprise label, it is actually the WMG that owns them. Their new "21st Century Breakdown" is already released, but I’m not interested in buying it because I know I would give that evil music corporation a profit over the purchase.
Until recently, I DID NOT know these artists were WMG-owned (and therefore should belong to someone else): AFI, The All-American Rejects, David Bowie, Evanescence, Fall Out Boy, Guns N’ Roses, Avril Lavigne (I thought RCA owns her), Katy Perry, Queen, System Of A Down
I’d rather see WMG go bankrupt than collecting any more money over their music, so I’m going to download their music instead. Now it’s your turn: Which of your favorite artists have been blacklisted by the WMG? Also, what are some of your good substituting recommendations of good music artists that aren’t owned by that label, both mainstream and indie?
Get Bittorrent + go to mininova.com, and I guarantee you’ll find Green Day’s new album.

Ha, the only two I really listen to are In Flames and Lamb of God. I used to listen to Devildriver awhile ago, as well, but that’s about it.
Yeah, just keep downloading their music instead, lol.

That page on Wikipedia failed to mention Badfinger who released two albums on Warner Bros. Records back in 1974–BADFINGER and WISH YOU WERE HERE.
Although I do hate how that thing with WMG and YouTube not making a deal with each other so that YouTubers can post covers of artists signed to WMG labels, I must say it’s not that big a deal. I mean, YouTube would be breaking the law by not deleting those videos.
